A current name may appear with a city role, a school contact, a parcel, or a state credential. Older names can surface in yearbooks, newspapers, cemetery files, and property archives. The people directories serving Magna reflect its split between city, county, school, and state keepers. Some tools search by name, while others must be browsed by office, school, place, or publication year.

Magna people directories do not sit in one database. The city roster is best for public officials and service contacts. School pages list current staff. County property tools tie names to parcels, while state license and business systems identify people acting in regulated or formal roles. Historical sources work by year, former place name, school, address, or organization. Each directory answers a narrow question, which makes the keeper and coverage just as important as the name entered.

Use a current roster for a public contact, a school page for a staff member, and a parcel directory for an owner of record. A past resident may require a yearbook, newspaper issue, cemetery entry, appraisal card, or probate file. No verified official residential white-pages directory covers present-day Magna, so a public or historic source should not be made to sound like a complete list of everyone who lives in the city.

Search Magna Staff Directories

The Magna Staff Directory is the strongest city-level name tool. It combines city personnel, elected and appointed officials, and contacts from groups that provide local services. The category list includes administration, City Council, Planning Commission, building, business licensing, court, police, fire, waste, water, planning, public works, GIS, parks, and the Clerk/Recorder's Office. This mix is useful for routing a call, but it is not proof of a complete city personnel roster.

A visible result is practical, not personal. The inspected Planning and Development category showed surname-first names linked to entry pages, with office details and role data. Its entry fields form a useful sample inventory:

NameDisplayed surname first and linked to the public entry page

EmailPublished work email link when supplied
PhonePublished work line or department number
Additional PhoneA second service, scheduling, or office line when provided

Utah's government directory page provides agency navigation rather than a working statewide employee name phonebook.

Utah government navigation for Magna people directory research

The screen is best used to reach an agency's own leadership or contact page. The former statewide phonebook route could not be verified, so it should not replace the searchable Magna roster. Salt Lake County likewise offers department and official navigation, not a documented countywide employee-name search in the available research.

Note: Council and commission rosters identify public officeholders, while meeting minutes may preserve earlier names after a current directory changes.

Magna School Directory Rosters

Two current school directories give Magna-specific staff contacts. Cyprus High publishes cards with a portrait, full name, role or title, work phone when supplied, and a work-email link when published. It is a browse list, not a dedicated staff-search form. The site's general text box searches the school website as a whole, so it should not be described as a staff-name, subject, or department filter. Missing contact fields on one card also do not mean that a person is absent from the school.

The Cyprus High staff roster shows the current card layout.

Its card-based view helps confirm a role and published school contact, but it has no stated start date, archive view, export option, or historical filter.

The Matheson Junior High directory is a second local education source.

Granite School District's school index can identify the right campus for a Magna address before the campus roster is checked. No authoritative Magna university faculty directory was found. District alumni resources help identify a school or community, but they are not a public alumni address list.

Magna Property Name Directories

Salt Lake County's Assessor Parcel Search works as a current owner directory. An owner search accepts at least the first three letters and uses the format Last, First for a person. Address components and parcel IDs provide other ways into the same index. The Parcel Viewer adds owner, property type, tax district, map layers, and parcel selection tools. These systems identify assessed parcels and current owner records. They do not list every person linked to an address.

The Recorder serves a different directory role. Its Data Services includes owner of record, parcel-number history, legal descriptions, recorded documents, tract indexes, chain of title, and permanent grantor/grantee series. A grantor is the party transferring an interest; a grantee receives it. Online use costs $5 for a 24-hour credential, while the office counter and copy request remain fallback channels. The earliest online index or image year is not published.

Directory distinction: The assessor identifies a tax parcel and current assessed owner. Recorder instruments document transfers and other title-related parties. Neither source is a resident roster.

Older owner directories survive in Salt Lake County Archives appraisal cards. Residential and commercial cards run from 1934 into the 1970s, commercial cards continue through 1991, and appraisal photographs cover 1934 through 1991. A current or former address can lead to owner names, prior-owner index cards, building facts, footprints, and outbuildings. That set is especially useful when a current parcel page is too new.

Magna Professional Directory Lookups

Professional and business directories cover different groups. The Utah Division of Professional Licensing system searches credential holders by a name that begins with or contains the entered text. It also supports a direct license-number search and filters across regulated professions. A result can confirm the credential identity, license type, number, and status. It does not establish that the person lives in Magna.

The official DOPL license directory shows the name controls and profession filters.

The beginning-versus-containing choice is useful with a partial name, while a license number is the sharper test when one is already known.

The official Utah business entity search entry leads to the state corporation system.

Utah business entity Magna directory search

Entity details can separate a legal business name, status, registered agent, address, and filings. A registered agent is the person or firm designated to receive legal notices, not automatic proof of ownership. Assumed business names belong in the same state corporation system. Utah's UCC records document filing parties, but do not by themselves prove a current business contact or owner. The Utah State Bar covers lawyers, educator licensing is separate from a school contact card, and the ChamberWest member directory covers voluntary members in the west Salt Lake Valley. Absence from a chamber roster means only that no current member listing was found.

Magna Voter Directory Boundaries

Utah voter information is a record source, but the free voter tool is not an open surname directory. It asks for matching identity and address details to verify a particular voter's own record. Public-file products can include names, addresses, districts, status, party, registration dates, and participation history under current law. Protected identity fields and At-Risk voter information are withheld. Participation history records elections in which a voter took part, never a candidate choice or ballot selection.

The statewide extract is a paid current snapshot, not a simple Magna people directory. County or district subsets come through the county clerk, and use is subject to statutory limits. For the record classifications, request rules, and custodian routes that govern such sources, consult the Magna public records overview. Directory coverage and legal access are related, but they are not the same question.

Note: A self-lookup failure may reflect mismatched identity or address fields; it does not prove that a named person is unregistered.

Magna Yearbook Directory Bridge

Cyprus High creates an uncommon bridge between a current directory and a historical one. Its school site links directly to a creator-filtered Cyprusonian yearbook collection. A volume may identify students, faculty, clubs, teams, and senior portraits by publication year. Account, viewing, and download terms can differ by item, so the presence of a catalog result does not promise unrestricted image access.

Yearbooks help when a school and rough year are known but a name has changed or a current roster no longer includes the person. Search several years around the expected date. Check class pages, activity indexes, team lists, and faculty pages rather than relying only on a full-text hit. The link from the official school roster to its past yearbooks makes the source stronger than an unverified alumni list.

Old Magna Names Unlock Directories

A modern city name can miss older directory entries. Pleasant Green was renamed Magna in 1906. Historic sources may also index people or places under Garfield, Arthur, Ragtown, Coonville, Hunter, Greektown, Japantown, Snaketown, or Little Italy. The Garfield and Arthur mill settlements add a special geographic problem: an old home or business may have been tied to an industrial townsite that no longer maps to a surviving street address.

City directory
A publication that groups names, addresses, occupations, or businesses for a stated place and year.
Reverse directory
A directory arranged by street address or phone number rather than by surname.
Finding aid
An archive's description of a collection, its scope, arrangement, and access terms.
OCR
Machine-read text made from page images. Faded print and type can cause missed or wrong names.

The Utah Digital Newspapers collection searches names, addresses, obituaries, school news, and business notices across title-specific historic runs. If OCR misses a surname, browse issues around a known date and try a former place, mill, school, or business name. The change in place terms is not mere local color. It can decide whether a directory search returns anything at all.

Trace Magna Historical Directories

Historical Magna people directories span far more than printed phone books. The J. Willard Marriott Digital Library holds searchable photographs, maps, and collection descriptions. The Utah Historical Society's Magna photograph finding aid describes sixteen circa-1930 commercial-property images, and university Kennecott holdings include hundreds of early twentieth-century personnel cards. Access rules and the fields on those cards must be confirmed before assuming remote name access.

Utah State Archives

Government catalogs, historic name indexes, territorial probate, court files, and local agency series. Catalog descriptions establish dates and custodians.

Salt Lake County Archives

Appraisal cards and photographs tied to a current or former address, including owner and building evidence from the paper era.

Pleasant Green Cemetery

City-held maps and a measurement-based grave database. No public name portal was verified; request an interment, lot, owner, or map entry.

The directory timeline helps place each search channel:

  1. 1883: Pleasant Green Cemetery begins, creating a local interment trail later inherited by Magna City.
  2. 1906: Pleasant Green becomes Magna, so searches should retain both place names.
  3. 1934-1991: County appraisal cards and photographs preserve owner and building evidence across stated spans.
  4. 2020: Magna assumes cemetery ownership and keeps the official maps and database at the city office.
  5. 2024: Magna becomes a city, while many directory and record keepers remain county, district, or state bodies.

Territorial probate files can add heirs, guardians, land, inventories, and distributions to a name. Recorder grantor/grantee indexes and property abstracts provide another long record line, though the official site does not publish its imaging cutover. These sources are directories only in a broad sense: they organize names within a specific record series rather than attempt to list the whole community.

Know Magna Directory Gaps

Several expected directory types could not be verified from authoritative sources. No current official residential white pages were located for Magna. The County Library material confirms a Magna branch and public technology access, but it does not publish exact Polk, reverse-directory, telephone-book, obituary-index, newspaper-microfilm, or genealogy-database holdings by year. Those collections must not be assumed. Ask the library catalog or staff about a named title and year before planning a visit.

No working official statewide employee-name phonebook was found. No public Magna congregation, union-local, veterans-post, neighborhood-association, fraternal, or civic-club membership directory was verified. No open Kennecott employee name search or official Magna funeral-home master obituary index was located. Such records may exist in private files, newsletters, minutes, or archival deposits, but the lack of a public directory cannot be filled with an inferred roster.

Magna business licensing provides an office contact but no verified public browseable licensee register. A focused city records request may ask for an existing register by business name, address, license type, and date span. Similar care applies to old phone and criss-cross directories: the exact title, publisher, year, and holding institution should be confirmed before the source is cited as available.

Lawful use: Public directory access does not permit stalking, harassment, or harm. Use work contacts and public records for legitimate personal, family, property, consumer-safety, or civic research.
